We are seeking an experienced and skilled Sheet Metal Foreman to oversee the daily operations and workflow of sheet metal projects within our organization. The Sheet Metal Foreman will be responsible for managing a small team of sheet metal workers and ensuring that all projects are completed to the highest quality standards and within specified timelines. The successful candidate will possess exceptional leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of sheet metal fabrication techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage a team of sheet metal workers, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and providing guidance and support along with helping with completing the project to completion.
- Management and scheduling of all sheet metal field manpower requirements for our projects
- Interpret and understand project plans, blueprints, and specifications, and communicate requirements and expectations to the team.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other departments, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient workflow and successful project execution.
- Monitor and inspect work progress to ensure adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Train and mentor apprentice, identifying areas for improvement and providing constructive feedback.
- Manage and maintain inventory of sheet metal materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring their availability as needed.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, enforce safety policies and procedures, and promote and maintain a safe working environment.
- Evaluate the performance of team members, provide regular performance feedback and assist in the resolution of any conflicts or issues.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices in sheet metal fabrication techniques and tools.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques, tools, and equipment, including cutting, bending, welding, and soldering.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve project goals.
- Proficient in interpreting and reading project plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and provide effective solutions.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and coordinate with various stakeholders.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet strict deadlines.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Valid driver's license
