Pipe Welder

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pipe Welder to join our team. As a Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and equipment through a permanent joining process, using various welding techniques, machinery, and tools. Your expertise in performing high-quality welds with precision and efficiency will contribute to ensuring the safety and durability of our products.

Responsibilities:

  • Installs welding piping in a quality manner and can complete take-off complex runs of pipe, fittings and equipment. 
  • Measure pipe to already placed equipment and order required pipe and fittings. 
  • Correctly and efficiently does offset calculations. 
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine welding requirements.
  • Perform welding operations using various techniques, such as SMAW, MIG, TIG welding of carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum. 
  • Use appropriate welding equipment, tools, and machinery to execute welding tasks.
  • Operate welding machines and tools in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Conduct inspections and tests to evaluate weld quality and tolerance, making necessary adjustments as required.
  • Maintain welding equipment and tools by conducting routine inspections, troubleshooting, and performing repairs when necessary.
  • Monitor inventory levels of welding supplies and materials and order new stock as needed.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with team members, including engineers and fabricators, to ensure project specifications and deadlines are met.

Requirements:

  • Completion of state approved plumbing apprenticeship or equivalent education, over 5 years of experience and thorough understanding of plumbing codes are required. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Technical degree or certification in welding is preferred.
  • Proficiency in various welding techniques, including arc, SMAW TIG, ad MIG. 
  • Must be able to pass the 6G test. 
  • Strong knowledge of welding equipment, tools, and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications.
  • Good understanding of welding safety precautions and procedures.
  • Attention to detail and strong ability to work with precision.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and physical strength to lift and manipulate heavy materials.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new welding techniques and technologies.
  • Must possess required tools of the trade. 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 75 pounds occasionally and 50 pounds repetitively. 
  • In compliance with NEAS safety policies at all times by wearing the proper PPE for each job tasks as required by VOSHA, OSHA and NOISH guidelines. 
  • The ability to climb and work from up to a 40 foot ladder.
